Term 2 - Week 1 - Painting a monster concept in lesson

In the lesson we were all given the same sketch and palette for a monster concept. We had watched a tutorial on how to effectively and quickly paint it, so the painting was left up to us.

This is what we were given to start with:

We then added block colour to the body and the armour to use as a mask:

Then we added highlights and shadows to create the feeling of depth:

Then we finalised it by adding details, extra highlights and then a bit of overlying texture. I ran out of time, but did start to texture the face and head:
